B|D landscape architects collaborated with Hawkins\Brown, Skelly & Couch & EoK to deliver the second phase of the City of London Freemen’s School redevelopment in Ashtead Park, Surrey.
B|D completed an extensive enabling works package at the school over the summer of 2012 that included an extended woodland car park, an ECB approved cricket practice area, an enhanced MUGA and extended All Weather Hockey pitch set in a Registered Park and sensitive landscape setting.
The first phase reworked the Music & Boarding houses and completed in 2015 including a junior school adventure play trail.
This second phase comprises a 25m, six lane competition pool with associated changing facilities and a flexible teaching / event space set in a wooded landscape setting.
We are underway with future phases include the refurbishment of the Grade II* Listed Main House and wider landscape improvements.
Client: City of London + Freemen’s School
Landscape Budget: circa £0.5 million
Status: Phase 2 completed 2018
